As part of National Apprenticeship week (5th-11th February), here at Fowler & Gilbert we wanted to catch up with our apprentices to see how things are going:
“I previously attended The Grove School, located on Newcastle Road in Market Drayton. I completed my GCSE’s and finished year 11.
I knew I had to choose some form of further education when I remembered upon completion of work experience at Fowler and Gilbert, I was offered a spot in their apprenticeship program.
I chose Fowler and Gilbert because of the fantastic time I had whilst on work experience, the company feels like more of a family than just another workforce and the work is all very rewarding and leaves me with a great sense of accomplishment.
To date, I have learned how to work well in a team environment on-site, and I am still learning the necessary practices when handling different tools and materials.
By the end of this apprenticeship, I hope to have gained further knowledge in the field of steel erecting alongside invaluable experience which will stay with me for life.”
